Ball mill is a key piece of equipment for grinding crushed materials, and it is widely used in production lines for powders such as cement, silicates, refractory material, fertilizer, glass ceramics, etc., as well as for ore dressing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The ball mill can grind ores and other materials, wet or dry, capable of handling hard material such as feldspar, quartz, iron ore, gold ore, etc.

Types of Ball Mill

  • Dry-Grinding Ball Mill & Wet-Grinding Ball Mill

    It’s classified by technological conditions, wet-grinding ball mill, in literal terms, grind materials to ore pulp with density up to 60% or more, whereas dry-grinding ball mill is suitable for powder grinding.

  • Grate-Type Ball Mill & Overflow-Type Ball Mill

    According to ways of discharging materials, there’ re two kinds of ball mills: grate type and overflow type, and overflow type is usually considered a desirable approach if you’re about to grind as small as 0.2mm or finer.

  • Ball Mill & Ceramic Ball Mill & Rod Mill

    Many types of grinding media are suitable for use in a ball mill, as ball mill mainly uses steel balls, rod mill uses steel rods whereas ceramic ball mill is lined with ceramic material. Ceramic ball mill is more suitable for processing finer particles thus making batch operation necessary. Rod mill grinds material to a particle size somewhere between crushing machine and grinding mill.

Operating Principle of Ball Mill

Our ball mills are available in different styles and numerous model sizes in each style to adapt to various grinding requirements, and widely used in cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, etc.
Ball mill consists of a hollow cylindrical shell(the grinding jar) rotating about its axis, usually lined with abrasion-resistant material and partially filled with balls, which may be made of steel, ceramic, or rubber.
